Rated on a scale of 1-5. 1 being very poor and 5 being excellent.
We like it here quite a bit.
Happy to be on a bus route and
have laundry nearby.

This is my first time renting
in 10 years.
I quickly realized that rent
in Ithaca has more than
doubled since I had my last
apartment here. But The
Overlook rents based on income
and since my only income is
social security, that's really
helpful.
Jamie also went above and
beyond to help me with the
moving process. That even
included her knowledge of
other properties. She sat down
with me and went over the pros
and cons of everywhere. And at
no point did she mention
anything negative about her
competitors. I found her
honesty very reassuring. It
really seemed like she was
putting my best interest over
everything. At one point we
had an issue because the
person whose apartment I was
getting decided (but then
changed their mind again) they
weren't going to move.
Jamie spent quite a while
trying to help me find an
apartment with her competitors
before the former tenant
decided to leave.
My apartment is much nicer
than almost all of the other
places I looked. It's
unfortunate what landlords get
away with in terms of
quality/price just because of
the colleges. Before I found
the overlook, I looked at many
overpriced, dirty, small
apartments.
Between the bus system and
carshare, it's very convenient
for me to get downtown and do
all my shopping.

We've lived at the overlook
since 2007 and seen the entire
staff replaced several times
over. And is was good to see
them go because they were
pretty awful. In March or
April 2011 a whole new staff
came in once again. But
they're not like the others.
They really seem to care.
They're pleasant, they answer
the phone, and happy to help
when asked. Before these guys,
we were thinking about
leaving. But we're definitely
giong to stay now. I mean, our
neighbors still suck, but
that's unavoidable in an
apartment complex living
situation. When 8 families
live in one building you're
gonna hear eachother. If we
could find a house to rent for
this price, we'd leave. Anyone
would. But $449 for a 2
bedroom apartment in this town
is a steal.
